Trustees and Volunteers
We are always looking for trustees and volunteers
Behind the day-to-day staff team is a small group of unpaid trustees and volunteers who help keep Wirksworth Pre-school Playgroup running for local children and families.
The pre-school is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, known as a CIO. This means it is run by trustees for the benefit of the children, families and local community.
Trustees are unpaid volunteers. They help make sure the pre-school is well managed, financially responsible, legally compliant and focused on giving children the best possible early years experience.
What trustees help with
Trustees support decisions about finances, policies, recruitment, buildings, fundraising, planning and governance. They do not need to work in the pre-school day to day.
You do not need childcare experience
Useful skills include finance, admin, HR, marketing, fundraising, buildings, IT, governance, recruitment, events or simply local knowledge and a willingness to help.
Help shape the future
Support decisions that help the pre-school run well now and stay strong for future families.
Use your skills
Bring practical experience from work, volunteering, parenting, local groups or community life.
Support local families
Help protect and improve an important community pre-school that has served Wirksworth since 1965.
A rewarding way to get involved
Being a trustee or volunteer can be a good way to support an important local setting. It can also help people develop skills in management, marketing, recruitment, finance, community fundraising and governance.
There are different ways to help, from joining the trustee group to supporting events, fundraising, buildings, admin or one-off projects. We are happy to talk informally about what would suit your time, skills and confidence.
